Basketry has for many years been my favourite mode of expression, but I am working with fiberart in other ways too.
My art work grow through experiments with the materials, but also patterns and ornamets from different cultures are inspiration sources for my work, just as natural elements often are integreted.
There often is a element of repetition - either in the single work - or in series of works, that can be put together in different ways.
Trough my art work I try to create tranquillity, balance and harmony.

My work as an artist started as a fascination of fibers and their possibilities of beeing used in art work.
Visiting the Textile Biennals in Lausanne in the 80's was a great inspiration, and maybe it waswhere I stated beeing aware of the possibillity of working sculpturally with fiberart.
One particular exhibition, though, made the biggest impression: "How to Wrap 5 Eggs" - about traditional japanese packaging.
That straw and leaves in such a simple way could be formed and bound into the most beautiful packages and containers, I still remember as one the greatest aestetic expiriences I have ever had.
